Use your senses along with these tips to decide if somebody is a leader worth of following

The world has been enlarged since the “www” era started, but with the social media burst it grew exponentially. Everywhere on the online world as well as the offline world happen to have a lot of opportunities that can whether teach you brilliant lessons or make you waste your time. And you don’t want to waste your time because of some stranger. There are so many voices and so many stories out there that it could be so confusing and you may easily fall right into accounts you do not want to follow because of their low value or suspicious characteristics.

However, there is also the chance to gain relevant and priceless information, inspiration and competence by following the right leader. So, the problem would be how can you find a master in this vast universe?

Find your master

Here you have some tips that will guide you while you are online and that you can use as a filter to decide if a particular person is a true professional or if you are in presence of somebody without any credentials.

I learned this tips from my experience and they helped me finding some great teachers. If you have any suggestions, you can leave them in the box below.

Follow this advices and you will save hours of your time. Here we go:

1. Look the track record

Imagine that you see an advert of a random person who is talking about the secrets to be a millionaire. Nice presence, brilliant communication skills, looks confident with his/her speech but, what is the story of this person? What do you know about him/her? It should be easy to search for information online. Try to gather intel about who this person really is. Another good way of looking for information is to directly ask to the followers he or she has, before you really start listening.

2. Look for references

What has this person done until now? What has he/she done in his/her career? Look for any books that he/she has written, and which are the comments on him/her.

There are several platforms were you will read people opinions about almost anything.

3. Avoid big time sellers unless you can find them trustful

Many people are making a living thanks to the Internet and, in some cases, this is valid: there is such a big number of options to make online businesses. But before you do anything, try to observe and understand well before you digit the numbers of your credit card for an offer. Also, make sure you will have time to follow what you are buying and that you are not throwing your money away.

4. Check the cross presence in different media

As you saw at the beginning of this article, everyone communicate their own stories, their own messages. Is this new leader you found online telling the same message everywhere? Try to see if his/her actions are consistent with the message.

5. Be proactive

Complement the previous tips by contacting them directly to find out more. If you searched the Internet for some time you should be able to find an email address where you can write to. Moreover, you can also write direct messages. That may be the quickest way to get in touch with somebody.

I personally made a great experience finding my actual meditation master, Stephen Procter. Three years ago I was looking to improve my meditation skills but I couldn’t find a person that fitted for me. So, one day, I observed that a kind person appeared in Insight Timer - an app for people that is trying to have a better life through practicing meditation, chanting, yoga and relaxation techniques.

That kind person would become my master Stephen. Lots of good real references about him popped out when I did my research and I also saw his web page and his MIDL (Mindfulness in Daily Life) program, which I have been following for more than a year. He is a great guide helping me to learn and work in three main key mind factors: investigation, concentration and mindfulness, which are reflected in my daily life when I interact with others. Stephen helped me found a different dimension of leadership.

We had great exchange of thoughts. He gave made unvaluable lessons and I contributed with him so that he could be able to continue developing his teachings. Energy flows easily from people with good intentions and transparent desires.

It was a great discovery of an amazing leader on the spiritual path. And it would have been very difficult to find him if it wasn’t for the virtual possibilities we all have today.

NOW, I would like to know more about you…
